That’s right, we’re here to provide you with a not-at-all ironic, completely legitimate list detailing exactly why your growing business can afford to completely, 100% ignore first aid kits and just get along without them. Read on for our absolutely honest opinions on why this is a great, can’t-fail idea.
#5: Injuries — do they even happen anymore?
Really, think about it — do people actually get injured anymore? Isn’t that just a bunch of stuff you see on TV and in the movies? Take a little unscientific poll with me right here — how many of you have really been hurt in your lives? What’s that? Many of you? Ah, alright, next one!
#4: The human body can heal itself.
Unless comic books and Hollywood films have lied to me, most wounds and other minor scrapes in the human body are easily dealt with. Even for really big injuries, say an open fracture or some kind of limb loss, I’m pretty confident that the human body — miraculous thing that it is — will just sort of work itself out. No?
#3: All that junk…
They’re all full of complicated gauze and bandage and a bunch of stuff that I swear is just thrown in there to pad things out. Sure, a paramedic might tell you differently, explaining that each item in a kit is absolutely crucial for even the smallest injuries, but who really listens to paramedics (or doctors) anyway? We’ve got the internet instead!
#2: Get creative with household or office supplies instead!
Ever thought of using copier paper as a bandage? Maybe a tourniquet can be fashioned out of toilet paper and staplers? If you use a little creativity, you’ll see that the items in a first aid kit, fashioned as they are for an exact response to injury, just aren’t fun enough when compared to improvising solutions with the crap lying around your office!
#1: Who wants to be preventative, anyway? Boring!
There’s some old proverb that goes “a stitch in time saves nine”, and I suppose it’s got something to do with prevention saving a ton of money down the road, or something. Frankly, it’s just easier to pay for things later. Sure, having a first aid kit on hand to minimize an injury might be the difference between a tiny hospital bill or an expensive, all-consuming medical-care odyssey, but who really knows?
If you are still convinced that first aid kits, fire safety products and all that staff is useful – go on and equip your office and home. You can do it even online nowadays, so you can enjoy a home delivery and a very reasonable pricing.
